The Chuckleberry fruit originated in Norfolk when a Redcurrant was crossed with Gooseberry and Jostaberry. The Jostaberry is a hybrid of a gooseberry and a blackcurrant. The result is a Chuckleberry that is a little larger than a blackcurrant and packed with flavour intensity.
