THE GOOD OMEN
LEGEND OF BLACK SHUCK
Black Shuck is one of the oldest English Legends about a huge ghostly spirit dog with a black shaggy coat and flaming red eyes, which is said to roam the East Anglian countryside and beyond.
Some tales recall that Black Shuck acts as a protector to lone women, or as a guide to lost travellers.
One such tale tells of a family travelling in their car at night along the Norfolk coast. Out of nowhere a huge black dog appeared in their path blocking their onward journey for several minutes. The dog disappeared as quickly as he arrived and the family continued their journey only to discover a short distance on that a huge land slip had occurred and if their path had not been blocked they would almost certainly have been killed.
